ACCA Examinations

The ACCA examination syllabus comprises a distinct and progressive scheme of 14 examinations. All Fundamental Level papers, consisting of the Knowledge and Skills Modules, are compulsory (unless exemptions have been granted for a paper).


ACCA’s Main Examination Rules
  • All the examinations consist of written papers in English and are two or three hours long (all three hour papers include an additional 15 minutes reading time).
  • The exams for the papers in the Knowledge Module (F1 – F3) can also be taken via Computer Based Examination method – these exams last two hours and can be sat at any time of the year at a CBE centre.
  • A maximum of four papers may be taken at one examination session in June or December.
  • The pass mark for each paper is 50%.
  • Students have up to 10 years in which to complete the examination scheme.


Taking ACCA’s Examinations

The ACCA qualification is open to everyone regardless of educational background, although individuals’ starting points will be different depending on previous qualifications. Exemptions are available for certain papers depending on a candidate’s prior education. Exemptions can only be granted by the ACCA and can be checked on the online exemptions database:
